Pregnancy and parenthood can be a source of great joy. But these profound life experiences can also bring up feelings such as frustration, fear and helplessness.

Pregnancy brings many physical and emotional challenges, many parents find that they are so busy preparing for the baby, that they have not been able to devote any attention to themselves and the enormous transition which is about to take place in their lives.

Working with a therapist during pregnancy and early parenthood gives you a supportive space to navigate your way through some of the issues you may be facing, such as:

  • challenges to sense of identity, independence and autonomy as a result of pregnancy and parenthood

  • unwanted physical changes during pregnancy

  • challenges of parenting a  newborn

  • lifestyle changes 

  • sleep deprivation

  • loss of control

  • self care

  • different parenting role expectations within a couple and within your community.

TAM Therapy offers supportive and empathic connection, and access to effective mindfulness-based skills to help you navigate the emotional path of pregnancy and early parenthood. Online sessions are also offered to ensure ease of access, and to keep you connected through what can be a very isolating life stage
